The Neighbourhood-Honest
California band The Neighbourhood release a new song for The Amazing Spider Man 2, "Honest." It's not a big step from what they featured on their I Love You album as The Neighbourhood sticks to what they know their fans love. No telling if this will be on an upcoming album or was just a throwaway, but if it was the ladder then I'm really excited for their next project.

Fickle Friends-Play
Recently formed English band Fickle Friends drop their second single, "Play." Like their debut song, it's a great alternative jam that will be playing on repeat this summer.

Sir Sly-Gold (Feat. Vic Mensa & Kami De Chukwu) (Petter CottonTale Remix)
Chicago group Save Money takes a crack at Sir Sly's hit single "Gold." Peter CottonTale, constant collaborator of Chance The Rapper and some other Save Money members strips the song of most of its instruments and adds some cool cuts and synths to layout a beat for Vic Mensa and Kami De Chukwu.

RDGLDGRN-Red Gold Green LP
RDGLDGRN is a new but quickly rising band out of Virginia. Their gimmick is that each member wears a different color, one red, one gold, one green, and nothing else. Red plays the guitar, Gold plays the bass and sings vocals, and Green also plays guitars and raps. The combination of the instruments with the rap gives the band a unique sound, a sound that caught the attention of both superstar Pharrell and Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl. Each helped the group find a sound that works on the Red Gold Green LP. The 3 also love to make great music videos, with 5 already made from an 11 track LP.
Best Tracks: "Million Fans", "I Love Lamp", "Power Ups", "Doing The Most"
Born Ruffians-Oh Cecilia
Toronto outfit Born Ruffians release a new single "Oh Cecilia." The indie rock song is a follow up to last year's Birthmarks album and has me excited for whatever they have planned next.
Workout-Life Is A Nightmare
Alright, I gotta start catching up on some posts. Some may be a lot more succinct than others, but it's the music that matters not my writing. First up, New York band Workout recently released their Rockit Science album. On it was the hit single, "Life Is A Nightmare", with a riff that sounds like it was ripped from an Arctic Monkeys track and some pretty weird lyrics.

SomeKindaWonderful-Reverse
Cleveland natives SomeKindaWonderful release their debut single "Reverse." The band uniquely tells the story of a man cheating on his girlfriend, but tells it all backwards. SomeKindaWonderful makes the powerful track thanks to the lead singer's strong vocals and brooding instrumentals.
Rob Cantor-Old Bike
LA Singer/Songwriter Rob Cantor drops the single "Old Bike." Newcomer Cantor has that kind of Fun. and Queen sound. His voice sounds great with minimal, quiet instrumentals, but he's not afraid do bring in an orchestra of instruments and great production to give the song some uplifting energy.
SAINT MOTEL-Ace In A Hole (Wize Remix)
Indie rock band SAINT MOTEL's hit single "Ace In A Hole" is given a great update by french producer Wize. Wize turns the slow jam into an electrically charged track with the help of some synthesizers.
Only Real-Cadillac Girl
British artist Only Real drops his new single from his upcoming album Cadillac Girl. Though he hails from London, this song sounds more like a SoCal summer jam, as well as the artwork. Look for Cadillac Girl on iTunes April 14th.

Jaymes Young-Habits Of My Heart
Jaymes Young covers Sufjan Stevens "Habits Of My Heart." The piano and percussion on the track that accompany Young's voice are what make this song so enjoyable.

Bleachers-I Wanna Get Better
Bleachers is a band out of New Jersey quickly gaining attention from their debut single "I Wanna Get Better." The upbeat track proves a great anthem that will hopefully be followed up with some more Bleachers songs soon.

Air Traffic Controller-Nordo
Ever had one of those times where you hear a song and you immediately know that the artist will be one of your favorites for years to come? As someone who looks at dozens of new songs every day, I strive for that feeling, and yesterday, I achieved it. The last time it happened was when I heard "Good Ass Intro" on Chance The Rapper's Acid Rap and I knew the rest of the album was going to be something that appealed to me specifically. I knew, within the first 45 seconds, that I had found something special. This was similar to how I felt when I pressed play on Air Traffic Controller's album Nordo. First of all, I have to give props to The Burning Ear for digging this band up. Nordo, Air Traffic Controller's sophomore album, was released on June 26, 2012. The name of the band also isn't random and meaningless like a lot of band names today, the frontman of ATC, Dave Munro, actually served as an air traffic controller in the Navy. ATC gathered some media attention with their single "You Know Me", which landed on a few websites' top singles lists and a even few called it one of the best albums of the year, but overall, this album definitely went overlooked. You know that moment in the movies where the guy is running through an airport to keep the girl of his dreams from getting on the plane, or when the underdog team starts to comeback and you just want to stand up and start cheering? That's the moment that ATC captures in Nordo. Songs like "You Know Me", "Hurry Hurry", and "If You Build It" just make me happy when I listen to them. Anytime I'm having a shitty day I feel like Nordo is the thing I could listen to to make everything seem alright. The link above only features 5 of the 12 tracks on the album, go to iTunes or Spotify to listen to the whole thing, you won't regret it.

The Fratellis-Costello Music
If you're wondering why I haven't been posting more often, it's not because I've given up on this blog. Honestly, there hasn't been much new music that I've liked recently. Audio Push dropped a track with Logic, but it was definitely a letdown. Alex Wiley released some new shit, his first since Club Wiley (6/4/13), but the songs were pretty weak. And Lil' Durk was supposed to drop his mixtape Fuckery yesterday but apparently DEFJAM told him to sit on it.There has been some great news, though. Common, Jack White, and Clipse are working on new albums, not to mention that the Clipse album will be produced by The Neptunes. So anyways, I've had to go back into my library and find some old stuff to listen to. One of the bands that I'm always listening to is The Fratellis. The Fratellis are one of the few good Rock bands still making music. Their debut album, Costello Music, is one of the best albums of the 00's. It's possible you've heard a few tracks off of it before, but if you're looking for some new music, give this album a try.

Young The Giant-It's About Time
Finally, Young The Giant has released some new music. Their great debut album, Young The Giant, was released in 2010 and the Irvine based band haven't released anything since, until today. However, the sound has changed a lot, but in the best kind of way. The group has obviously honed in on the energy they had in "My Body" and have a more focused Rock sound. Their sophomore album, Mind Over Matter, comes out January 21, 2014.

Cage The Elephant-Melophobia
Cage The Elephant, the band behind "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked", have finally released their new album Melophobia. While the album still has their signature garage rock style, it seems much more focused and less chaotic. The songs have structure and a consistent rhythm and as a result the album actually feels like an album, as opposed to their other albums that sounded like a bunch of songs that just didn't go together. The album doesn't have as many singles as their debut, but as I said, it actually sounds like an album. I'm excited to see where CTE goes with their music in the future as they mature.
