Chance has been shy about releasing music for a while. Consumed by his touring, I'm unsure how much time he's had to work on his new album. However, the touring just ended and he's on a break until Lollapalooza so hopefully we'll here some of his new solo work soon. In the meantime, listen to "The End" off Sholohmoh & Jeremih's excellent new six-track EP No More, which features a short but good verse from Chano.

Chance The Rapper-The Writer

So producer Apollo Brown just dropped a whole bunch of old, unreleased music. On this cut, he let out a 2012 track called "The Writer" that Chance The Rapper rhymes on. Go to the 5:20 mark to hear Chance's part. The insropective lyrics work great over the chill piano keys.

ProbCause-LSD (ft. Chance The Rapper) (The Hood Internet Remix)

Chicago producer The Hood Internet remixes two fellow Windy City artists' collab rap "LSD." The producer makes a smoother beat and adds a classic chorus to make this sound like an entirely different song.

Chance The Rapper-Untitled

Holy shit, this isn't real. Chance released 2 songs yesterday and a previewed a 3rd one today on Sway In The Morning. It's happening, something big is coming. This song doesn't have a known title yet, but it's my favorite of the last 3. Chance can be heard saying that this song is "very important to [him]." What does it all mean???

UPDATE: It took me a few more listens to realize it, but that's J.Cole at the end! Finally, a Chano x J.Cole song.

I don't know what I've done to deserve this, but Chance came out with more music today. This time in a more conventional verse on TDE's songstress SZA's single Childs Play. Great mellow track and now Chance has worked with 2 members from TDE. One day. One day...

Chance The Rapper & The Social Experiment-Home Studio (Back Up In This Bitch)

Chano releases his first solo single for the first time since April of last year making this day a good one. Granted, it's only 2 minutes and was recorded in his home studio, but it's a sign that something is coming. Recently, everything Chano has released has been incredibly unique and experimental. "Home Studio" continues this and takes his range to a level of almost angry yelling. At times, he sounds a lot like Vic Mensa. Usually I hear Chance in Vic's music, and not the other way. I'll admit, this one might be for everyone, but I'll listen to anything with Chance and am excited that Chano is further expanding his range. Also, the production on this song is on point, can't wait to hear what else they've made for the next album.

Chance The Rapper-Save Yourself First

Chance releases an alternate version of his verse for the remix of James Blake's "Life Round Here." Unlike the upbeat bars that made the final cut, "Save Yourself First" shows off Chance's vocal skills and more heartfelt lyrics that reflect on his life in the streets of Chi-town.

Chance The Rapper Update

Since my last post, Chano has been featured in 4 new songs, here they are in the order that I like them. Suprisingly, the one that I most anticipated, "Coast is Clear" produced by Skrillex, was my least favorite. It's repetitive and the production isn't necessarily bad, but it certainly doesn't work as a rap beat. I'm all for Skrillex moving away from dubstep, but he definitely needs some work.
